12 Holiday Giving OpportunitiesSeasons Greetings from CASA! As you may know by now, the holiday giving season is upon us. With all of the hustle and bustle, you may not have had time to even think about holiday giving, and you may ask,”Why is year end giving important?”
Many nonprofits (CASA included) rely on tax-deductible donations this time of year to ensure we can continue sustaining and growing our lifesaving services in the new year. In fact, nearly one-third of annual giving happens during the month of December!
We want to make giving back in 2022 easier for you. Our Holiday Giving Guide is a GREAT way to learn more about creative ways to give back. But, just to give you some additional ideas and make your life easier, here are 12 ways to give back this holiday season.
Our Hope for the Holidays program is in full swing, and we are working hard to make this season merry and bright for people accessing our services.
The easiest, most cost-effective way to give back to the community is spreading awareness and advocacy about domestic violence. Follow @CASAPinellas on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to share educational posts and CASA resources.
Many local businesses have committed to hosting third party fundraisers for us this holiday season. Whether it’s donating partial proceeds of sales of specific products, hanging flyers around their business soliciting in-kind donations for us, or having employees bring items off of our wishlist, there are SO many ways to give.
A few examples from this holiday season include a historic home trolley tour of Old Northeast and a holiday-themed cabaret show with proceeds going to CASA.
If you are not a local business, you can still solicit donations at your holiday party. Have guests bring specific items of our wishlist and arrange a drop off time with our team!
You do not have to give every month to make an impact. As previously stated, many nonprofits rely on year end giving to start the new year strong. So, your holiday giving project can be making a simple, one-time donation, and the impact will go a long way! Donate now.
If you have the capacity to sign on as a monthly donor, the process is simple. When you fill out our donation form, you can click the option to become a monthly supporter of CASA. This support is vital to our organization.
With residential and non-residential programs at CASA, we always need support in the form of in kind donations. Our wishlist is updated frequently and has current needs of support in the form of in-kind gifts.
Did you know CASA has a thrift store and that 100% of proceeds from the store are poured back into our programs? Whether you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind holiday gift or doing some New Year’s Resolution cleaning, the CASA Thrift Boutique is the place to be.
You can donate your gently used and new items Monday-Friday, 10am – 5pm, or Saturday and Sunday, 10am-3:30pm. When you shop with us, your dollars go back to survivors in our community. Shop or donate at 1011 First Avenue North in St. Pete!
Does your employer provide a match for your donations? If you don’t know the answer to that question, now is a good time to find out and ask if they would match a contribution you made to CASA.
Vehicles For Charity is a national organization that makes the process for selling your vehicle and donating the proceeds from the sale a non-profit simple.
The initial inquiry to start the process of donating your car with this organization, in the form of a phone call or completion of our online donation form, takes only five to ten minutes. The donation is credited to the affiliate account. Choose CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse, Inc.) as your charity of choice when selling.
A planned gift is any major gift, made in lifetime or at death, as a part of a donor’s financial or estate planning. Gifts include those of equity, life insurance, real estate, personal property, or cash.
This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on an organization saving lives in the community, and it’s a beautiful way to leave a legacy of hope.
As you finish up those last-minute, online holiday purchases, consider shopping CASA’s Amazon Wishlist to send a donation directly to CASA’s offices.
Do you have a stock you have been considering selling for some time but have been putting it off? Consider selling it and donating the proceeds to CASA!
