Family Justice Center by CASA receives National Purple Ribbon AwardCASA Pinellas, the organization that brought Florida’s only Family Justice Center to Pinellas County, won the national prestigious Purple Ribbon Award for Outstanding New Service Launch. The award was presented by DomesticShelters.org and judged by a national panel of respected professionals from the domestic violence field.
CASA Pinellas won the award for launching the Family Justice Center by CASA in October 2022, providing a comprehensive one-stop shop for victims of domestic violence. CASA is the only certified domestic violence organization in Florida to be recognized.
“We are honored to be recognized nationally, and grateful to our staff, volunteers, and partners for making the Family Justice Center a reality,” said Lariana Forsythe, CEO. “Our goal is to provide streamlined, trauma-informed care for survivors of domestic violence, and the Family Justice Center is a vital tool in achieving that goal.”
Family Justice Center Providers and Partners include State Attorney’s Office of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, St. Petersburg Police Department, Office of the Attorney General Injunction Team, Gulfcoast Legal Services – Family & Immigration Law, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office – Child Protective Services, BayCare & St. Anthony’s Hospital, Suncoast Sexual Assault Services, The Juvenile Welfare Board, Pinellas County Schools, ClearPath Mental Health Services, Learning Empowered, Community Law, and Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit.
The Purple Ribbon Awards are the first comprehensive awards program honoring heroes of the domestic violence movement, including advocates, programs, shelters, survivors, and members of the community support system.
