Dear CASA supporters,
As of March 15, 2020, the CDC recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States. Therefore, we have decided to postpone our April 18, 2020 Farm to Table(aux) Gala. The new date will be June 13, 2020, at The Farley Estate.
The decision to postpone this event, which is critically important to our annual budget, was not made lightly. However, as a nonprofit that provides life-saving services to our community, 24/7/365, where closing or working remotely is not an option, the health and well-being of our staff, participants, and volunteers is imperative.
As our community is faced with these unusual circumstances, and many of us begin to distance and isolate ourselves within our homes, I ask that you remember that home, for many, is not a safe place. Now, more than ever, we need our community to stand up for those who are living in silence, for those living in our Emergency Shelter and do not have the luxury of home. Your support of our emergency programs is vital to our ability to serve survivors of domestic violence.
As we take precautionary health measures by limiting in-kind donations, we ask that you please consider
making a gift today to ensure basic needs are met for survivors accessing our emergency services.
We are working closely with industry experts to try and make informed decisions that best protect the safety and wellbeing of survivors, staff, and volunteers during this unprecedented time. In addition to postponing our April 18th event, we have taken additional steps to ensure the safety of our team and participants and are working to make necessary preparations should a quarantine be put in place at CASA’s Emergency Shelter.
We appreciate your ongoing
support.
Sincerely,
Lariana Forsythe
