Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA)
Founded in 1977, CASA is the official 501c3 domestic violence center based in Pinellas County, FL. We operate the area’s 24-hour hotline and emergency shelter; non-residential programs, such as support groups, economic empowerment and legal advocacy; Child Protective Investigative Team support; community and corporate training; and the CASA Peacemakers anti-bullying and healthy relationship school curriculum.
POSITION TITLE: Thrift Shop Assistant Manager
MAJOR FUNCTIONS: Sort, price, and stock all incoming donations. Assist in the management of the daily operations. Supervise staff and volunteers to ensure that the store is well maintained and provide excellent customer service. Work with the Thrift Shop Manager to develop strategies to increase revenue.
Essential Duties:
• Daily sort, price, and stock all incoming donations
• Staging, merchandising
• Backup cashier as needed.
• Provide high-level service to CASA participant customers, employee customers, and customers from the public at large who shop at the thrift store.
• Provide high-level service to donors who bring donations to the thrift store and cultivate new donors.
• Work under the direction of the Thrift Shop Manager to rotate inventory, price merchandise, and display merchandise to maximize sales.
• Follow all opening and closing procedures.
• Handle sales process which includes; receiving of merchandise by customer, accepting and processing all forms of payment, and bag merchandise for customer.
• Work with the thrift Shop manager to train staff and volunteers, supervise their day-to-day duties, and recognize and reward their efforts.
• Work with CASA maintenance staff, thrift Shop staff, and volunteers to ensure that the store is well maintained, clean and inviting.
• Assist Thrift Shop Manager in executing fiscal controls and procedures to ensure sound cash management.
• Accurately report daily sales, provide tax documents to donors, and maintain volunteer records that include contact information, emergency contacts, and hours donated to CASA.
• Execute special projects and other duties as determined by the thrift Shop manager.
• Other related duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 3-years Retail Management required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Working knowledge of designer clothing
• Possess the ability to climb stairs and lift at least 50 pounds
• Possess a valid Florida State Driver’s License and *proof of auto insurance to be annually verified
• Agree to participate in a background check
• Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines
• Work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday. May be required to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to work independently or as a team member.
