Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA)
Founded in 1977, CASA is the official 501c3 domestic violence center based in Pinellas County, FL. We operate the area’s 24-hour hotline and emergency shelter; non-residential programs, such as support groups, economic empowerment and legal advocacy; Child Protective Investigative Team support; community and corporate training; and the CASA Peacemakers anti-bullying and healthy relationship school curriculum.
POSITION TITLE: Outreach Victim Advocate 1
Major & Essential Functions: Provide quality direct services to survivors who come to the Family Justice Center, and collaborate with onsite/offsite partners to ensure wrap-around services are provided.
Work Environment Expectations: This position operates within a shared office environment. The role involves a combination of office-based work, requiring flexibility, mobility, and frequent interaction with staff, participants, and external stakeholders.
Additional Position Responsibilities:
- Complete ongoing file reviews with staff to ensure forms are completed properly, documentation is accurate in Osnium, and quality services are provided to survivors.
- Assists in training new advocates.
- Provide input for program development.
- Ensure that all services are documented in the appropriate report and database.
- Complete all required paperwork, data entry, and monthly reports in a timely manner.
- Monitor advocacy service delivery for compliance with state, federal, and local grant requirements.
- Prepare monthly reports and maintains records of statistics and KPIs
- Prepare statistical reports according to grant requirements.
- Assist in documenting and entering staff training hours into database.
- As needed, attend and participate in case conferences, staff meetings, trainings, community meetings, and presentations.
- Prepare high-risk case review and participate in high-risk case staffing’s.
- Collaborate with onsite and offsite partners to ensure wrap around services are provided.
- Acts as a liaison with community partners.
- Provide backup and assistance to any program areas as requested by management.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all areas designated for use by participants.
- Ensure basic needs and food are stocked in the pantry at all times.
- Complete all required documents, paperwork, and computer entries in an accurate and timely manner.

General Duties:
- Attend and participate in CASA staff meetings, required trainings, and special projects designated by supervisor.
- Attend and participate in ongoing training opportunities.
- Assist with training and supervision of volunteers/interns.
- Complete special projects and presentations as requested.
- Keep supervisor informed of successes, barriers, concerns, and performance issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education/life experience preferred, or a minimum of one-year proven success in a current CASA direct service position,
- Experience working with survivors of domestic violence or other crisis related experience preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current community resources and have the ability to maintain working relationships with agencies.
- Agree to drive agency vehicles as needed.
- Ability to function independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Possess a valid Florida State Driver’s License to be verified on an annual basis.
- Possess the ability to climb stairs and lift at least 50 pounds.
- Agree to participate in a background check upon employment.
- Agree to work a flexible schedule when required, which may include changing schedules to ensure case management coverage, due to illness, absence, vacation of other staff members, or a natural disaster.
- All positions are considered essential and as such may be required to be available to remain onsite and/or required to assist during emergencies and other critical times.
