When you think of a mother, you might picture the love, comfort, and support she brings into a child’s life. The quiet ways she shows up every day, offering reassurance, encouragement, and care.

Mothers are often the people we turn to when the world feels uncertain. But for too many mothers in our community, home is not a safe place.

Every day, mothers come to CASA’s Family Justice Center searching for something many of us take for granted: safety. They arrive with their children, sometimes with just the clothes on their backs, and often unsure of what tomorrow will look like.

For many of these mothers, making the decision to leave is one of the hardest and bravest moments of their lives. It means walking away from the familiar into the unknown and starting over.

At CASA, we see the strength it takes for these mothers to walk through our doors. And every day, because of the support of people like you, we are able to stand beside them, offering shelter, advocacy, and the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

This Mother’s Day, you can help make sure mothers in our community don’t have to face their journey to safety alone. Your support helps provide stability and hope for mothers and their children as they step toward a life free from violence.

P.S., making a donation in honor of a mother or mother-figure in your life is so special, but CASA serves more than just mothers. Although domestic violence is often a gendered crime, CASA sees participants from all walks of life, ages, genders, and backgrounds.
