POSITION TITLE: Events & Engagement Coordinator

MAJOR FUNCTION: The Events & Engagement Coordinator will contribute to broader advancement team priorities, supporting both marketing, community engagement, and development efforts as needed through the development and execution of various communications initiatives, both internal and external, furthering CASA’s community engagement initiatives and co-managing signature events.

FLSA: Full Time/Non-Exempt

Illustrative Duties:

  • Assist Manager of Strategic Communications with CASA’s social media assets, including campaign ideation and execution
  • Research media coverage and industry trends
  • Create and maintain marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic in collaboration with Manager of Strategic Communications
  • Work with publication vendors for timely ad submissions in collaboration with Manager of Strategic Communications
  • Design and create ads to help support departmental marketing needs in collaboration with Manager of Strategic Communications
  • Design and launch email marketing fundraising campaigns in collaboration with Manager of Strategic Communications
  • Maintain website design and operation
  • Create and maintain organization literature and other forms of communication including brochures, palm cards, and other collateral
  • Create and maintain marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic
  • Negotiate contracts with event venue and vendors and ensures required permits are obtained
  • Collaborate with the Community Engagement Officer to keep presentations and trainings up-to-date and provide trainings to staff
  • Create and maintain marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic
  • Develop and maintain relationships with area event focused vendors
  • Assist Special Events & Marketing Manager with needs related to public event activities
  • Assist with Development projects

General

  • Manage monthly reporting of Marketing, Engagement, and Communication efforts
  • Work with Manager of Strategic Communications to execute project needs
  • Brief Manager of Strategic Communications on design, copy, image, and content needs for promotional and fundraising literature and activities
  • Act as a brand steward, upholding brand and trademark standards and consistency in all projects
  • Work with Development Project Coordinator to increase operational efficiency and help set up and improve workflow processes when and where needed

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in hospitality, marketing, or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of concepts in print and online design and layout
  • Experience working with social media websites, newsletters and local media
  • Excellent verbal, written and editing communication
  • A strong record of accomplishment as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary
  • Possess and maintain a valid Florida State Driver’s License to be verified annually
  • Personal transportation and auto insurance
  • Ability and willingness to drive CASA vehicles
  • Agree to a background check
  • Possess the ability to climb stairs and lift 50 pounds

Additional Qualifications (not required, but would be a plus!):

  • A minimum of 2 years of event management, development, advertising, or other relevant experience
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proven track record of successful event management
  • Familiarity with WordPress
