Position Title: Janitorial Maintenance (Custodian)
Illustrative Duties:
- Maintain the cleanliness of all CASA’s Facilities.
- Assist with maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of CASA’s Facilities.
- Empty trash containers and replace liners.
- Dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, clean, and sanitize all areas of CASA’s facilities to include floors, walls, ceilings, and all surfaces.
- Performs general cleaning assignments in residential rooms, suites, restrooms, hallways, common areas, kitchens, laundry rooms, living rooms, and kennel.
- Performs the cleaning checklist and facilities safety checks in a timely manner.
- Clean and stock rooms with necessary basic needs supplies.
- Clean appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, ovens, toasters, microwaves, etc.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining CASA’s vehicles as needed.
- Utilizes cleaning chemicals properly and safely, and keeps all cleaning chemicals out of the reach of children.
- Clean up all spills to prevent safety hazards.
- Monitor and keep an inventory level of cleaning supplies, linens, personal care items, and basic needs items.
- Minor touch up paint as needed.
- Assist with hanging and moving items as needed.
- Stock and replenish hand towels, soap dispensers, and other basic needs items throughout CASA’s properties.
- Assist with sorting donations and supplies as needed.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
General
- This job position requires moderate physical demands. Duties may include frequent walking, stooping/kneeling/bending, lifting/carrying, and pushing/pulling during work.
- Attend and participate in all required trainings.
- Agree to work a flexible schedule when required, which may include changing schedules to ensure case management coverage, due to illness, absence, vacation other staff members, or a natural disaster.
- Complete special projects as requested.
- Understand & abide by CASA’s Confidentiality Policy at all times.
- Understand and abide by all CASA’s Policies and Procedures at all times.
- Demonstrate a commitment to treat residents, volunteers, and co-workers in a respectful manner at all times.
- All program & facilities positions are considered “emergency essential” and as such may be required to be available to remain onsite and/or required to assist during emergencies and other critical times.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, or GED, or 2 years of Equivalent work-related experience preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to function independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Possess a valid Florida State Drivers License to be verified annually.
- Possess the ability to climb stairs and lift at least 50 pounds.
- Agree to participate in a background check upon employment.
