400 Philanthropists, Artists and Advocates Stand Up To Domestic Violence

May 2, 2018, St. Petersburg, FL – Everyone in the courtyard stood up at CASA’s Farm to Table(aux) 2018 gala on April 28th. The evening was full of culinary indulgences, inspired performances, an exciting auction, cheer and laughter. But why did all 400 guests rise from their seats in unison?

They were standing up to a system where survivors of domestic violence feel ashamed while their abusers walk with heads held high. They were standing up to the idea that “this isn’t my problem,” despite the fact that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in America have experienced domestic violence.
They were standing up to silence.

CASA’s Farm to Table(aux) 2018 was a joyous occasion, because the outpouring of support for domestic violence survivors in Tampa Bay is something to be celebrated. All told, the event exceeded all fundraising expectations to support CASA’s prevention programs and life-saving services to end domestic violence!

The event, held at the Vinoy Renaissance’s newly renovated terrace, featured art installations and performance designed under the direction of Pinellas Dance Collective, American Stage, Jennifer Kosharek and Chris Liddell. Special musical performances were contributed by Taylor and Rochelle of Lie Low and Leatric Reid of ACT, the Art Conservatory for Teens.
