DESCRIPTION:THANK YOU FOR THINKING OF THE MANY SURVIVORS RECEIVING CASA SERVICES DURING THE HOLIDAYS!\nWe realize that part of overcoming the power and control of an abuser\, is to let the survivor choose what is best for them and their children. \n\nThis year\, CASA is asking that anyone who would like to contribute to making our participants’ holidays a little brighter donate Walmart\, Amazon\, Visa\, Target\, Gas\, or Publix gift cards in increments of $25. \n\nThese cards will be given to participants to allow them to choose just the right toy or gift for their child. This model of empowerment that CASA uses daily is the process of becoming stronger\, independent\, and more confident\, especially in controlling one’s life. This will be the first holiday season free from abuse for many survivors. \n\nHelp give the power\, control\, and the joy of gift-giving back to survivors as they recover from the trauma of domestic violence.\n\n\nDonations will be accepted November 15th to December 12th\, Monday through Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at a new drop off location: 1019 Arlington Avenue North\, St. Petersburg\, FL 33705. A victim who is strangled just one time is 80% more likely to be murdered later by that same abuser. \nThis training will be provided by leading experts in America: Casey Gwinn\, J.D.\, former elected City Attorney of San Diego & official trainer of the Florida Supreme Court and Gael Strack\, J.D.\, Alliance for Hope CEO & national strangulation expert. \n\nThis course will aid in the identification\, investigation\, and documentation of strangulation in intimate partner violence cases.
